The Nordic Green Left Alliance (NGLA) is an alliance of five political parties that work for the existing co-operation between the green left parties of the Nordic countries. The Alliance is based on the fundamental socialist values of democracy, freedom and equality.Its purpose is to advance and strengthen the common work for social justice, gender equality, sustainable development, international solidarity, human rights and peace, nationally as well as internationally. The Alliance is a co-operation between independent and sovereign parties.
The member parties are:
Socialistisk Folkeparti / SF (Socialist People's party), Denmark
Sosialistisk Venstreparti / SV (Socialist Left party), Norway
Vänsterpartiet / V (Left party), Sweden
The Alliance was founded in 2004.
Chairing party of the NGLA 2009 is SF.
